I am doing photography with a Reflex (SLR) since 15 years and I have moved progressively from film and slides cameras to Digital Camera

Previously owning Minolta equipment , that was taken over by Sony
I have succesively owned a Minolta 7, Minolta 7D, a Sony Alpha 700, Sony Alpha 350 (APS-C sensor) and I have recently (July 09) moved to Alpha 900 which is the full frame 24Mpix professional body of Sony

In term of lens I also progressively moved from an all-in-one zoom lens 18-200 to more specialised lens with high quality and big and constant aperture (<= f2.8 )

My favorites topics are Landscapes and People shooting

I use Lightroom as post processing software
I am also used to write photographic tutorial on various topics like Lightroom, Flickr...

I also used a lot of accesoiries like tripod, screen color calibration , gray chart, GPS for geotagging photos, ND grad filters

Bonjour à tous (sorry to do it in french, I'm a bit lazy tonight ) :P
Ma passion pour la photo a commencé vers 8 ans, lorsque j'ai reçu mon premier appareil Kodak (un Kodak Ektra 22F). Elle a bien mal commencé puisque lors d'une visite d'un parc animalier où je me souviens très nettement avoir photographié un Toucan, j'ai perdu cet appareil (eh oui, je n'avais que 8 ans ...). Mes parents ne m'en ont pas (trop) voulu et m'en ont racheté un. Plus tard, j'ai eu un Kodak disc 4000 (certains s'en rappellent sans doute), puis j'ai pu utiliser le CANON AE1 de mon père. Plus grand, j'ai découvert les joies de la photo avec mon 1er reflex : un Minolta Dynax 7xi, équipé d'un flash et de deux objectifs. Le passage au numérique s'est fait par un compact Minolta S404, mais très vite, j'ai été frustré par ses possibilités et le contact d'un réflex me manquait, même si le numérique me séduisait. La naissance de mon deuxième fils m'a permis d'acquérir mon CANON EOS 30D actuel avec un 17-85mm. Peu après j'ai acheté un flash CANON 430D, puis l'an passé, mon deuxième objectif : un CANON 70-300mm que je n'ai pas encore pu utiliser assez souvent à mon goût. Depuis quelques années, j'avais balbutié en retouche photo. Après avoir joué avec les premières versions de Paint Shop Pro, j'ai essayé Photoshop 7. Mais je n'ai rien compris et j'ai très vite renoncé. Par après, Adobe a sorti Photoshop Elements, j'ai donc essayé les 7 versions successives. Depuis 2009, fort de mon expérience en Photoshop Elements, j'ai pu passer à Photoshop CS4 que j'utilise avec bonheur depuis que j'ai investi dans une tablette graphique WACOM Bamboo fun. Pour les excursions en famille, j'ai également un petit compact Panasonic Lumix FX37. Récemment, j'ai acheté une sonde Spyder 3 Pro pour calibrer mon écran.

Je vais donc le faire en français aussi. Mon attrait pour la photo est aussi relativement neuf. J'ai commencé il y a dix ans avec un appareil acheté sur ebay mais la qualité étant désastreuse, ça m'a un peu découragé. Ensuite, j'ai travaillé avec un bridge Sony pour finir il y a maintenant plus d'un an par acheter un D80 avec un objectif 18-200. A côté de cela, mon matériel se limite à un pied permettant de prendre des photos sans bougé dans l'obscurité. Je travaille avec Gimp comme logiciel de retouche et avec Picasa mais je ne me suis pas encore fait une vraie opinion quant à ce que je recherchais vraiment dans ces programmes.

Je me considère comme débutant mais avec forte envie de progresser. je prends beaucoup de photos mais quasi exclusivement en vacances par manque de temps pendant l'année.

Mes attentes dans ce forum est de partager des expériences et photos, apprendre par des conseils pratiques et trouver des articles, essais ou témoignages intéressants.


Je suis intéressé par l'architecture avant tout mais apprécie aussi les paysages et les personnages.

et n'hésites pas à poster des photos ou à commenter d'autres photos si tu veux savoir quelles sont paramètres qui on été utilisés
j'aime également beaucoup l'architecture
pour celle ci je viens de m'offrir un objectif à décentrement (dit tilt & shift) qui permet de corriger les déformations visuelles engendrées par le manque de recul typique que l'on a en Architeture. j'expliquerai cela en détail dans un prochain article

J'ai vraiment commencé la photo il y a 4 ans, avec un reflex argentique canon. Je suis passée au numérique il y a 2 ans: Nikon D80 avec deux objectifs: 18-200 mm stabilisé, et le 17-55 mm. J'utilise beaucoup le 17-55 en ville car j'aime l'architecture urbaine moderne: NY pour cela a été un voyage mémorable, et je n'ai pratiquement utilisé que le 17-55.

Les photos en B&W m'interpellent et m'inspirent plus. Et j'aime aussi le jazz. C'est probablement les raisons pour lesquelles je collectionne les bouquins de photo de jazz. J'aime aussi les portraits, toujours en B&W.

Ma grande frustration est le manque de temps pour faire de la photo, et aussi le fait que j'aimerais emporter mon appareil partout pour photographier le quotidien, mais l'appareil est encombrant. J'envisage donc de me munir d'un bridge qui serait constamment dans mon sac.

je fais de la photo depuis sans doute plus de 25 ans, je ne me souviens pas trop de la date d'achat de mon premier appareil photo. C'ètait un Yashika FXD Quartz, Après l'avoir fait tombé dans l'eau lors d'un tour en kayak de l'ile de Phi Phi en Thailande, j'ai acheté un Pentax Z1 et depuis 2 ans je me suis mis au digital en achetant un Pentax K10D.
J'aime les photos d'ambiance, les portraits, les fleurs, la macro, les animaux, les photo de ciel, ...
J'utilise CS4 pour le post processing.

Je m'appele Karim Belaabidia et Je suis attiré par la photo depuis tout petit. Du genre activité noir et blanc avec développement en chambre noire quand j'étais encore en secondaire...

Puis mon premier reflex il y a quelques années (et la chambre noire qui allait avec), remplacé par un eos 400d il y a un peu plus d'un an, complété par quelques objectifs (17-50 f/2.8, 50 f/1.8, 70-300 f/3.5-5.6)

J'adore les portraits et le noir et blanc, les photos sur le vif (voir "volées") mais bon j'ai encore beaucoup à apprendre!

I bought my first camera about 6 years ago: a small Canon Ixus 430. At that time a top-of-the-bill compact camera with a 4MP sensor. I took it with me on my honeymoon to Jamaica and made some pretty nice shots with it.

After that I didn't really use the camera that much until my daughter was born. At the same time I started a blog which of course needed to be fed with new pictures frequently.

In 2007 I swapped my old Ixus for a new Canon Powershot G7, truly a magnificent device. Had lot's of fun with it.

Now, since about 6 months, I have a new Canon EOS 500D. Before I wasn't really interested in a reflex camera since I used the video function of the small compacts a lot. But since the new reflex camera's practically all have a video function, I found it was time to make the jump to this new world. And I must say, I like it very much.

I'm pretty familiar with all the terms and (basic) techniques, but I'm starting an evening training in January to improve my knowledge. In the mean time, I read a lot on photography on different web sites and I practice, practice, practice...

My main interest goes out to portrait (50 mm lens FTW!) and landscape photography.

I use Lightroom for my RAW-processing and occasionally Photoshop for some small tweaks and modifications.

Je me considère comme débutant aillant quelque notions ^^
Cela fait maintenant 4 ou 5 ans que j'ai investit dans un reflex.
Je prends beaucoup de photos mais quasi exclusivement en vacances par manque de temps pendant l'année.
J'ai fortement envie d'apprendre par la pratique.

Mon interet principale va vers la photo de sport, le B&W, portrait, nu, ..

Mes attentes dans ce forum sont :
- des atteliers plus que des scéance théorique (même si c'est évident que la théorie est nécéssaire au préalable.. )
- partager des expériences et photos. Profiter des conseils des autres quand je poste mes photos.

J'utilise CS4 pour le post processing.

Je suis Christophe, j'ai 30 ans.
Il y a quelques moi j'ai troqué mon Sony P200 (numérique de poche) pour un Nikon D40 d'occasion.
J'ai donc définitivement craqué pour la qualité et le plaisir du Reflex Numérique... revendu le D40 et passé au D90 avec objectif Nikkor VR 18-200.

J'ai deux filtres B+W: le UV et un Multi Coating Polarisant.
J'ai un pied aussi d'entrée de gamme de chez vanguard je pense mais je ne suis pas encore familier avec les photos sur pied.

En logiciel j'utilise ACDSEE Pro.

Je suis donc un débutant qui a envie d'apprendre.

Je suis Fabrice, 27 ans.
Ca fait un petit temps que je m'intéresse à la photographie (paysage, portrait, sport principalement).
Néanmoins je n'avais pas encore fait le pas de passer dans un reflex. C'est chose faite depuis peu, je suis donc totalement débutant et j'espère apprendre différentes techniques et utilisation du matériel. Pour info j'ai un Canon EOS 450D avec un objectif Sigma 18-200.
C'est un ami qui ma donné l'envie de me lancer et me voila.

Je trouve l'idée du forum excellente et j'espère poster quelques photos après Noel.

I am Vincent, 28 years old.
I started taking pictures quite early with the kiddy cameras and films, but only started to take pictures when I started to travel abroad.
I only started to go digital at the age of 25 , although I have to say that I like film rolls as well. I noticed that I am taking so many pictures now without thinking.
First of all, I like sceneries and recently with my little boy coming to the world, I started to interest myself into portraits as well.
I only bought my Sony A 350 last year August with the Sigma 18-200 with the thought of scenery pictures, but I got a lot of baby pictures instead.
But I am thinking about getting myself the sony 50mm f1.8 (cheaper than f1.4) for the portret pics, but this will depend on the company bonus.

Julien as the nick indicates. There was that glimpse when I was a kid of seeing my father going down the stairs of the cellar, changing the lights to red and ... starting to reveal negs and pics. I always considered him a hero in my young age as he always came back from the red-room with pics of us on pieces of photo-paper... That's how I started I guess to interest myself in his doing and photography. I now live in my parent's place and am about to put everything again in order to work...

I am now on reflex, but I grew up with a simple canon eos ( simple, not reflex) . I love taking pics, obviously, but specially pics of moments, people which you can turn into stories. I am not specially good, but I like telling what I felt when I shot one.

True believer of the continuous improvement, thanks to people like Sonia, I will be taking your comments carefully so do not hesitate to share them with me.

I'm Nicolas, 36 years old. My experience in photography is rather low. I had my first camera 6 years ago and always planned to take some course, but... didn't so far. I like to take action pictures (for the technical challenge), portraits (for emotions), landscapes,... I've a lot to learn and I'm expecting to get valuable comments here to do so

I took up photography about a year ago. I followed a short course, but my main experience comes from taking pictures, reading about photography, looking at pictures…

- Nikon D7000, standard 18 – 100 lens and a fixed 50 mm 1.8 lens
- Canon Powershot G12

Analogue:

- Smena (Смена) 6
- Agfa Click II
- Various Polaroid Cameras, with Impossible film

- what are your interests

I love taking pictures on the streets. Both the city as the people in the city. As such most of the portraits I shoot are done outside too, with natural lightning.
I prefer sober pictures, with a minimum of post production.

As such I also love shooting analogue with old, cheap cameras with limited capacities, forcing you to take the best composition possible.

- what are you looking for in this forum

I love to get new ideas from other people, be inspired. I also like to get feedback to improve my own shots.
